'The Wicker Man' by Neil LaBute (c)2006 Warner Bros Starring: Nicolas Cage, Leelee Sobieski, Ellen Burstyn, Christa Campbell. Length: 97 minutes.
You know something I've seen many movies, but few upset me as much as this one has. It not only made Wiccans/Pagans look stereotypical, but it was an extreme disappointment as far as story and acting was concerned.
Basically Nicholas Cage plays a cop who after seeing a horrific accident involving a child gets a letter sayin basically" come to this Island a child is missing".
Of course he goes and finds the island inhabited by a female dominated group of nutcases claiming to worship the goddess by using "the festival of life and death." At any rate the sacrificing of humans and animals using the "Wicker man" and the hinting of incest alone upset me..at any rate I give this movie a 1 out of 5. Don't waste your money. If your curiosity gets the better of you wait for the rental.
