'The Covenant' by J.S. Cardone (c)2006 Sony Pictures, Starring: Steven Strait, Sebastian Stan, Toby Hemingway, Chace Crawford. Length: 97 minutes.
Yesterday Michael and I decided we'd go to see the movie "The Covenant".
I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Remember though I never watch a movie to decide if I'm offended on how witches are portrayed.
This move is about 4 teenage young men who are descendants of Ipswich original founding families. The catch is there were 5 families. One family was believed to be wiped out during the witch trials. If you have seen any of the previews to the movie you know that there was an heir to that fifth family that was unknown to the others.
When these boys turn 18 they "ascend". Not ascend in the sense I know it so that kind of threw me off a bit and it was a sticking point for me. They really should have come up with another word. What they meant by ascend was the person would come into their full power.
Oh and the young men are eye candy, especially when they are at the pool swimming.
I really don't want to give anything in the movie away but as you watch it there will be things that you just know.
The scenery is really pretty and there is some really great special effects. It was worth going to see and I will purchase it when it comes out on DVD.
I will give you one warning. SPIDERS!
Have fun if you decide to go see it and don't go looking to pick it apart on how they portray witchcraft. It's not bad just played up.
