Tagline: You'll Learn To Love Her. Warts And All.

I really love this film. I'm not going to beat around the bush. This film is absolutely heartwarming. It will make you laugh, cry and even wish it'd never end. I've already watched it ten times (in the last four weeks or so).

The seven Brown children have had seventeen nannies since their mother died. Every single time they manage to scare the nanny away. Their father (Colin Firth) is at wit's end since the agency won't give him another nanny. Then magically Nanny McPhee arrives. She looks scary with her big warts and she has five lessons to teach the Brown children.

However, her arrival into the family doesn't go as smoothly as Mr. Brown or Nanny McPhee might have hoped. The eldest boy, Simon (Thomas Sangster), proves to be the most difficult child to handle, even for a magical being like Nanny McPhee.

Then the deceased Mrs. Brown's aunt decides to meddle in Cedric Brown's life. She wishes he marries so the children will have a new mother. Cedric and his children don't really look forward to this. Then aunt Adelaide (Angela Lansbury) comes for a visit, on Nanny McPhee's only afternoon off. Aunt Adelaide wants to take one of the girls home with her so the child can have a good education...

The children are fabulously evil, but you just have to love them. Thomas Sangster (also in Love Actually) as the ringleader of the children is fantastic. Emma Thompson's portrayal of Nanny McPhee is not what you'd expect from Thompson, but I am so happy she did this! Colin Firth does a wonderful job in crawling into the melancholic widower's skin... and as for Angela Lansbury, she's just delishously evil.

As in all fairy tales the story ends with a happily ever after, though one has to say, it's not a happily ever after for everyone.
