'The Interpreter' 2005 Universal Studios starring Sean Penn and Nicole Kidman Length: 128 mins
Good / Theater or Rental okay
Good story, good acting. Predictable plot, though, so don't worry if you miss it in the theaters. Worth renting. The acting was very well done. All of the characters were engaging and believable, though some were rather two dimensional. I wasn't sure if this movie was supposed to be an action or a mystery or a romance because it never quite made it to any of them. The action is minimal, the mystery is pretty transparent, and the romance is... Actually, the way they handle the "romance" is the most believable aspect of the whole movie. And the saving grace...the ending. I liked the fact that they kept it almost real. While, in this day and age I find it hard to believe it ended as simply as it did, I was still willing to believe it "could" happen.
