'Dead Birds' 2004 Sony Pictures starring Henry Thomas, Nicki Lyn Aycox and Isaiah Washington Length: 91 mins

A group of confederate soldiers rob a bank. There's the typical murder and mayhem of 'old west' style bank robberies. The bad guys get away and make it to an old farmhouse where they hope to rest and hide until the next day when they can head out to Mexico.

But this house isn't what it seems. "Bad Things" happened inside. "Bad Things" were done to folks. "Bad Things" were the result. And "Bad Things" happen to the robbers, one by one, as they learn their 'safe place to hide' isn't quite as deserted as they were led to believe.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie. While a little slow and the plot a little simple, the movie, as a whole, is dead scary. Even knowing what will likely happen, the movie has a wonderful background soundtrack that will keep you on the edge of your seat... even when nothing is happening.

Great timing, great special effects, and great ending!

If you wanna be scared, rent "Dead Birds".
