'The Pagan Man: Priests, Warriors, Hunters and Drummers' by Isaac Bonewits © 2006 Citadel Press Inc.,U.S ISBN 0806526971. 256 pages

In light of much of the recent discussion here of Pagan men, sacred sexuality and related subjects, I want you all to know that, yesterday, I received a wonderful gift from Kensington Press, courtesy of Isaac Bonewits; a copy of Isaac's newest book, The Pagan Man.

I was so impressed with the way Isaac handled the issues and material that I have already added to the recommended reading list for The New Temple of Astarte but have added it to the REQUIRED reading list for my students.

Yes, I received it yesterday afternoon and have already read it and telling you guys about it - in other words I stayed up most of the night reading it; it was worth it.

This IS NOT a heavy, pedantic book. In fact, if you just took the words it would seem light and fluffy but once you get into the various concepts and what all of it means to our community, it is wonderful - and well overdue.

I'm not going to tease anyone with quotes or stuff, the book doesn't deserve it. Pick it up and look at it yourself but don't be misled by the humorous style - that's just Isaac being Isaac. Just pick three or four pages at random and read what's there and then decide for yourself. All I will say is that the issues in this book are ones that we, individually, as families, and congregations and as a community really do need to discuss and, in many instances, deal with.
