Every once in a while I take a break from the "serious" non-fiction works I usually review and pick up a novel to sweep the cobwebs out of my mind. Unfortunately, I spend so much time on non-fiction that I often miss some good novels. I missed this one when it came out, and now it is being "remaindered" by Llewellyn. Basically that means that when they run out of what is in the warehouse, there won't be any more.

There is a certain timeliness in this book. It was published (and set) in 1993 and features two players in the world of terrorism who are still alive and well, presumably - Fidel Castro and Saddam Hussein.

The author is well known in the field of psychic writing, having published well over a dozen books on various occult topics over the past three decades. This is his first admittedly fiction work (although some may question Mu Revealed by "Tony Earll"). In light of his extensive background in occult matters, it is no surprise that the events in this book ring true.

This was an enjoyable, albeit predictable book. The plot did contain a couple of unexpected twists (I certainly didn't expect the climax, although the road to it was easy to predict).

It contains a bit of everything from simple ESP to PK, to Ceremonial Magick, told by an author who is familiar with the subjects, even the non-occult items ring true.

If you want some light reading, which does not venture fully into the realms of fantasy, pick this up from Llewellyn before it disappears.
