Godsmack has done it again! Their new album IV is sensational! Some of
the songs are reminiscent of earlier albums and others are new and
surprising. Some of the "new" music has a very different style from the
expected and Sully has shown an amazing variety of vocal talent. While I
love all of Godsmack's cds, I think this is my favorite. I bought it the
day it was released and I've listened to it at least twice a day since
then.

- LIVIN' IN SIN
This song will speak to all who have tried to shed one life to start anew. It reminds us of the struggle against the old life, how it haunts us and the uncertainty of whether we can pull it off. - SPEAK
One line in this song is enough to explain it. "Speak the truth or make your peace some other way." It reminds us how very important truth really is. - THE ENEMY
This is a very angry song. Its about being stabbed in the back by one thought to be a friend. I think we've all had this experience at least once in our life and can relate. - SHINE DOWN
This song is makes me think of one suffering from "soul sedation" who awakens and asks those around them to not give up on them because they are finding their way. This person believes in the power of love and in a higher power. It gives me hope. - HOLLOW
Haunting lyrics and amazing background vocals! Lisa Guyer (background singer) has an absolutely stunning voice. This song is about making bad choices and the hollow feeling that follows. Its about deciding to change and do what is best for ourself. - NO REST FOR THE WICKED
Another rockin' song much like the Godsmack of the past. This song reminds me of a person who is trying to prove they are worthy but is angry that the other person doesn't seem responsive. - BLEEDING ME
Vampires! Not the blood-sucking kind but the ones who drain us and suffocate us. This song reminds me of wanting a relationship to work out but realizing it only drains us of our vitality and spirit. - VOODOO TOO
This song is only slightly reminiscent of the original "Voodoo". In fact at the very beginning you can hear the end of the original song. This isn't at all a remix but it quite enjoyable. I love the first part of the chorus. "Have you ever wondered why in a dream you can touch a falling sky or fly to the heavens that watch over you?" - TEMPTATION This song reminds me of the dark side of temptations, of how they can drag us down and do things we normally wouldn't dream of doing because we know it would damage our life and the things we truly care about. Yet, it IS temptation.

Have you ever gone to your Mom and just cried? Cried over the bad things you've done, the people you've hurt and silently begging your Mom to make it all better like she did when you were a child? That is what this song is about. It's a plea for help but knowing that no one can save you and you have to stand alone. So sad....... - ONE RAINY DAY
This is my favorite song on the whole album. It has a Blues feel to it that is very unlike Godsmack but they do a marvelous job of it! Once again, Sully shows his amazing vocal talents. This song makes me think of drowning in loneliness.
If it seems I'm biased toward the singer then you would be right. While I think the band does a phenomenal job with the music, I'm a "words" person so I always gravitate to the lyrics of a song first and the music second.
