Camels and Deserts
by Georgia Langley

Once upon a time, in far away Egypt, a rich man found he needed to get across the desert. Now as we all know the desert can be a dangerous place, so he needed someone who had a steady camel that could make the journey. Finally the rich man happened upon a man who will take him across the desert for a fair price.

So off they go and as you might guess the journey was hot. The man that owned the camel said they should stop for a while. Both men wanted to get out of the heat but the problem was that there was no shade. The men began to argue over who had the right to stand in the shade of the camel.

The rich man of course argued it should be him because he was renting the camel. The owner of course said it should be him because it was his camel. Their argument became louder and they didn't notice that the camel spooked. They continued to argue. Finally they noticed the camel was gone.

Like these two men we sometime get caught up about which one of us is right. We argue over a "shadow". We don't see the full journey ahead of us. Our sharing and caring for each other is lost just like the camel.
