Here in darkness I sit waiting.
Waiting for my love to come back to me.
I hear laughter, it sounds like his,
as I hear the churchbells chime the hour of ten.
Lights flicker in and off,
leading me to wonder,
am I all alone, or is someone here beside me?
Now there is silence,
I hear nothing except my pen upon the paper,
swiftly writing down my thoughts.
I hear voices, are they done?
I sit here in the darkness, waiting...
