Weekly Discussions Greetings Witchgrovers old and new……I’d like to introduce you all to a new feature that I’d love to see take off! Each week we will be introducing a new topic of discussion and we’d like to spend the week focusing (not entirely, mind) on these in the hopes that we can all learn from each other. One discussion leader will introduce the topic while during the week people are invited to write their thoughts, questions and even detractions – one of the joys of discussion is that there are times we can disagree and learn new sides to each issue! |
Psi Vampirism Yes, there are real vampires. By this I do not mean such as what Hollywood and others have made a profitable genre. Those of us that are real vampires do not live forever nor can we change shapes or any of the other powers that you see in vampire movies. There are 2 main types of real vampires: psi and sanguine. To just look at us, you would never know someone was a vampire. Yes, there are those that wear the gothic look by choice but not all people you see in gothic attire is a vampire. A person can be a dormant vampire and not realize it until they are awakened, by this I mean when their vampiric tendencies make themselves known. This usually happens during teen years but can also not happen until adulthood. I myself did not realize what I was until I was an adult. I knew that all my life I had been totally fascinated by the subject of vampires but never knew why my fascination went so deep and lasted so long. And I had unknowingly been going around draining people of their energy. Once I knew what I was, I learned to control my feeding habits. Inanna Arthen, who wrote Real Vampires wrote,
A vampire is a soul that has reincarnated with an astral body that "leaks" energy. The physical body is only a shell that harnesses this form. A person with a healthy astral body is able to handle its own energy levels but a vampire can not. The vampire is like a leaking dam, they take in energy when they are running low but can not keep that level up with out needing to feed again in time. All vampires have this leak, no matter what their feeding method.
While a vampire does need to "feed", if they do so on a regular basis, what they take does not harm the donor. The only time that a donor is harmed is when someone does not know they are a vampire and feed excessively on one source without knowing they are doing it. Most vampires do have donors; these are people that know what the vampire is and willingly allow them to feed from them. For some it's energy, while for others it's blood. If a vampire is a sanguine (needs blood for feeding) they will have their donor's health status checked on a regular basis to make sure both they and the donor will stay healthy. If a vampire is psi, they can feed from many sources. Some do so from other people while others can use other life forms such as plants, ambient energy in the air from a crowd of people and even the weather. I know myself there is nothing like the energy I can feed on from a good thunderstorm. One of the biggest misconceptions about vampires is that we have a choice. Trust me, if I could choose not to be a vampire I would jump at the chance. It is not an easy life to live for many reasons: finding a willing donor, the constant change in our energy levels, a lot of us have similar food allergies. And while no we do not melt from the sunlight, most of us are very sensitive to it as well as really bright inside lights. Also there are some people out there that are real hunters. By this I mean that they actually do kill people who are vampires, a donor, a goth or even just plays vampire RPG's. Also if you think you are shunned or looked at crazy when you tell someone you are a witch just imagine the reaction telling someone you are a real vampire gets you. celtic wolf nightwalker Home Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4 Page 5 Page 6 Page 7 Page 8 |
