Memorial Day

Unless the National Cemeteries Administration, United States Department of Veterans Affairs, issues an acceptance of the Pentacle for use on the headstones of Pagan veterans, I call for all Pagans to act to bring even greater attention to this injustice.

Therefore, I ask that any Pagan who is the legal representative, or even close family member, of a deceased Pagan veteran to contact the Pagan Veterans Headstone Campaign and to make arrangements with us to honor the faith of the fallen by placing a Pentacle on each of those headstones.

Further, I appeal to any Pagan who can attend such a ceremony, to take place on the morning of May 30, 2005, do so and do so openly.

Additionally, I suggest that floral wreaths, in the form of a Pentacle, also be placed on these gravesites as well as the gravesites of any fallen Pagan veteran, with or without the approval of the representative.

Finally, since it has been the pressure that has been brought to bear on various elected officials which has gotten us this far, I suggest that the representatives and family members directly involved, along with any local, regional or national Pagan organizations which may be involved, to contact the media and various elected representatives and invite them to attend or, at least, witness these actions.

One final word. Any and all of these activities MUST be done with respect, not only for the fallen Pagan and their families but for all those others who have fallen in or after service to this country.

And yes, what I am asking you all to do may be construed as breaking one or several laws just as I, in the asking, may also break one or several laws. And whether or not a single person acts, I may still be breaking a number of laws but I can live with that far more easily than I can live with sitting back and doing nothing while Pagan veterans are dying every month, while Pagans are serving this country in uniform, especially in combat.

For those so interested and for legal purposes, I sign this
