Internet Group Saftey and Common Sense
by Roxanne

We are a wonderful group. We send love and compassion in a vast quantities. We give inspiration and opinions on various subjects freely and most of the time from our hearts with the best intentions. Some of those subjects have touched us personally and give us an inside seat with the ability to offer wise, sage advice to those who are going though it presently. That advice can equal a warm reassuring hug even a welcomed life line to a person who we perceive to be drowning.

But we must remember that this is an internet yahoo list and the majority of the time it is one dimensional. What appears to us as obvious and exact is not always the case. There is never just one person involved in any given situation, there are friends, families, husbands, wives and children. And while we only wish the best for those we endeavor to help, we have to remember the ones who do not have a voice on this list and are not here to defend or offer the other side to the story.

As much as we would like to think that we as a group represent a wide variety of personalities and professions and maybe the best vantage point of understanding, we are not counselors, therapists, lawyers or doctors... our words can hold weight and to the most innocent and for those grasping for a solution we, with our best intentions just might swing the pendulum in the opposite direction. Hopefully the outcome to any of our situations is good and we can feel great about that. But, in the event it should sway the other way are we willing to put the pieces back together on something we had a hand in breaking apart? Will we be there physically to support that person should it turn out badly?

Innocent until proven guilty and beyond a reasonable doubt are things we need to keep in mind. There are many facets to a diamond, deep inside are flaws and unless you're a jeweler with a loop to see those flaws, to the naked untrained eye they will go undetected. We rely on those who can see all sides of a story and dig deep into the cause to best resolve and assist in the outcome.

Think twice and be careful with your well wishing sentiments, support and opinions... offer all the love and understanding that you can before you offer a match to light the fuse.
