Merry Meet!

Welcome to WitchGrove - to introduce myself, I'm your friendly neighborhood listowner, known simply as Cerr on the list proper (easier to spell than Cerridwyn). I've been a Solitary Practitioner for 20 years, out of the broom closet for about 15 of those....

It's difficult to say which tradition I follow per se, as like many I tend to learn as much as I can about different trads and follow what feels right to me. I have studied the mythological aspects of the Celtic, Faerie and Druid traditions and those are the ones that feel the most like me, so it's a mesh of the three.

I am also ordained, so I suppose I should have used my Reverend title, but I choose not to use that unless I'm in the official capacity as it were - though if you would like to get handfast, or have a wiccanning for your child, I'd certainly be able to officiate!

Let's see....what else? Oh! I'm married to a lovely man and the mother of two amazing kids......and I love this list and the people on it. It's more than a mailing list, really, it's a very close-knit community, even a family.

Your Friendly Neighbourhood Mods

Anna

AnnaHi, I'm Anna your friendly neighborhood Norse Witch. I can throw runes (but not very far) and will tell you about all of your spirit guides if you let me.

I've been on the list since the beginning and watched it blossom and grow into a wonderful place. While many lists have crashed and burned WG stays strong despite the bumps in the roads.

Since Pixie gave her likes and dislikes I'll give mine: I like warm sunny days and cozy rainy days. I like hiking in the woods and conquering volcanoes. I have a warped sense of humor and it shows through my favorite books, music, and movies. I don't like grudges, jealousy or getting blisters.

I respect all paths and beliefs as long as they are respectful to me and others. I have a low tolerance for ignorance. I am married to a wonderful man and we have spoiled cat named Grendel who lets us pay the mortgage.

Georgia

GeorgiaHi, it's me Georgia. I travel my own path which is varied and Epona and the Morrighan both enjoy claiming me.

I'm a witch and yes that is spelled with a "W". I've been on my path long enough that I keep forgetting how long it's been. I would say it's because I don't remember ever believing differently than I do now. Yes, I have grown and learned many things in those years but it's been around 18 years for me. 16 years since I formally dedicated myself to my path.

I'm the mother of two almost grown boys, there are 6 furkids and oh around 80 koi and shubunkins. Did I mention I love my Koi pond? I do most of my rituals by the pond. There is something about having that water element right there with me that feels good.

I arrived here with the first load of bricks. Witchgrove is one of the most wonderful places I've ever belonged to. We have some really fine folks here.

Mab

Mab Hiya, I'm Mab, also one of the mods of the list. I've been a member since Witchgrove first rose up and flew.

I'm a Wiccan High Priestess, who started off Alexandrian and gets pulled Celtic-wards a lot. I'm more of a solitary now. I've got nearly 16 years Wiccan experience behind me and I've recently been awarded a MA in History, at the University of Wolverhampton, after writing a project entitled The Historian's Approach to the study of a New Religious Movement, with Emphasis Upon Wicca followed by a 15,000 word dissertation entitled, Towards an Academic Study of British Wicca - An Investigation into its Origins.

I am an Amnesty International activist; and I think that the God mostly manifests as Syd Barrett circa 1965-67, which tells you all you need to know about me.

I love the Grove to bits and it never ceases to provide lots of food for thought. It teaches me that you never stop learning and gives me a safe place to vent in. I've grown here, spiritually and intellectually. I don't think I was even a priestess before I came here, comparing now with then, just someone with a bit of training and a few books.

Pixie

Hello all! I'm Pixie.

I was raised Roman Catholic and attended Catholic school through college. By the time I was in high school I realized that it was not the correct path for me when my mother gifted me with my first tarot deck around age 14 or 15, though neither parent nor other relatives are Pagan. She just thought the cards were something I would enjoy...and there is where the obsession to collect tarot cards started.

I wandered through life for years investigating a variety of paths and finally realized where my beliefs and outlook on life would lead me -- so here I am. I follow my own particular tradition of "Pixie-ism". It's a eclectic mishmash of herbalism, mixed with paganism and marinated in Irish whiskey, uh, I mean, a dose of common sense.

My passions include gardening, cooking, being a "supernatural Martha Stewart", helping homeless boxers find their forever homes and raising money for Boxer Rescue.

I feel like I should add my measurements and quotes like "I like romantic walks on the beach and the smell of spring rain in the air..." and "My turnoffs are people who abuse other people's trust, animal cruelty and stepping in dog crap when I am barefoot..."

I'm married to the love of my lives who I would walk through fire for and who I know would take a bullet for me in return.

Roxanne

BinkI'm a witch, wife and mother of three girls. I can pick up pencils with my toes... I've even been seen picking up an 8mm bead!!

My thumb is double jointed AND I can wiggle my ears. (really... I can)

Witchgrove is a great place full of warm loving members.

We all honor the questions that come our way, never judging and encourage members to come out of the lurkers lounge. I think we can all learn from each other.

I have a fondness for duct tape and will use it on those who step beyond the bounds of kindness and compassion. When you enter Witchgrove, know that you've entered a safe place.
