    The Crane Woman

'The Crane Woman' by Amy L Rawson

Fabric Sculpture (cloth body over wire armature with sculpted head/hands/feet. fabric and leather clothing)

When looking for inspiration, I sometimes turn to divination systems to get me started. My favorite oracle deck is the "Druid Animal Oracle", so one day while feeling particularly un-inspired, I drew a card at random from this deck and decided that whatever came up is what I would use as an idea for a fabric sculpture.

I drew the crane card, a symbol of wisdom and patience. A few sketches later, I had a solid idea for the Crane Woman, and this sculpture was the result.
